Before you hit the road, take a moment to read a few tips that can help you maintain your safety while driving.
We work with local councils to encourage and teach safe driving - all with the aim of keeping people safe. Here's what we recommend you do:
Experts believe that safe driving starts with wearing a helmet. We agree.
HOPPY's technicians perform thorough inspections to make sure each share scooter is fit to ride, but it's important to always check that the tires are in good condition, the lights are on, and the brakes are working correctly before riding.
Always brake early and gradually - especially when going downhill. Our vehicles have hand brakes on the handlebars. Press the lever to apply the brakes.
Cars are bigger than you, and they hurt. Be vigilant and follow all local traffic laws.
Ride in bike lanes and within the limit. Stay focused and alert, avoid driving in the blind spots of other vehicles and pay attention to your surroundings.
Finished driving? Park within the HOPPY zone shown on the map in your app, and pay attention to parking restrictions. Be sure to look out for others and never leave your share scooter on footpaths or driveways.
